The Base Shopping Centre

Project Description

The Base Shopping Centre originally opened in July 2005. Additions continued over the following 6-7 years including more retail space and a state of the art cinema.

Requirement and specification

The steel framed building required 30 and 60 minute FRR’s over columns and beams. Phoenix 700-60 was able to achieve both these ratings. The water based product was specified by Ignite Architects in Auckland and spray applied by the team at J.L. Connolly. Both Client and Architect also required strong, durable and aesthetically pleasing washroom equipment that could handle high volume commercial use. Bobrick paper towel and waste bin combination units were specified along with toilet roll and soap dispensers.

Outcome

Phoenix Intumescent Coating was a cost effective and low VOC solution which was able to achieve the required FRR. The Bobrick units fulfilled all requirements on the initial stages and were further specified throughout the latter stages of the build.
